As a genuinely community-based business, Patchway Studios’ will prioritise jobs for local skills and talent, and wholeheartedly support the continuous development of the local film industry. This includes nurturing an international-standard crew base and ensuring the resilience of the industry in the South West.
Meanwhile, we’re keen to partner with local businesses and organisations in north Bristol, in mutually beneficial ways.
Consumers’ appetite for new content means strategically located and well-equipped studio production space is more sought-after than ever. In short, the UK’s HETV industry is booming, and in 2021 Knight Frank forecasted that the UK will need to double its studio space by 2026.
Helping to meet unprecedented demand
Right now, there’s a significant shortage of suitable space and experienced crew, and that’s why Patchway Studios is working with local authorities and economic development agencies to develop and expand the already rich film and television crew base in Bristol and the South West of England.
We’re already in highly productive collaborations with the Bristol Film Office, Bottle Yard Studios (through Bristol City Council), South Gloucestershire Council, and the West of England Combined Authority – among many others. Nationally, Patchway Studios is supported by the British Film Commission and Creative UK, through the Filming in England Partnership.

Working with local businesses
Patchway Studios routinely has hundreds of crew and extras working on site – many of them from beyond commutable distance. With that in mind, we’re keen to partner with local hotels, restaurants and other businesses, and to promote their services and amenities to studio users. We’re also a proud member of Business West – Bristol Chamber of Commerce.
